Female Support Workers
Newcastle
£10.15 per hour
Full-time / Part-time
Join our fantastic team of Support Workers in the NE6 area where we will soon be supporting a young lady in her 30s to the live her life the way she chooses. Your role will be to support her with her daily routines that include medication administration, meal preparation and domestic tasks, as well as supporting and facilitate participation in activities and her growing interests.
Transitioning to Dimensions is a big change for this young lady. She has a learning disability and requires a support team that are patient, kind, calm and resilient. It’s likely that she will display behaviour that others may find distressing so we’re looking for support workers with previous experience of working with behaviours that distress, or people who are committed and willing to learn, so that we can support her in the best way possible.
Shifts may vary depending on her changing needs but it’s most likely that the day shifts will be from 8am – 8pm and the waking nights shifts will be from 8pm - 8am. We will provide support during the week, at weekends and on bank holidays and are looking for people who are able to be as flexible as possible to work a range of shifts.
It is a requirement of this position that you hold, or are willing to obtain, an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care. Dimensions is committed to supporting your professional development and can assist with your enrolment on this course upon successful completion of your probation period.
We recruit based on values so whilst previous experience is always welcome, it’s certainly not essential as full training will be provided.
