Are you looking for a career that offers excitement, fulfilment, and the chance to make a real difference in someone's life? We are searching for a passionate and energetic Female Support Worker to provide support to a wonderful young woman in her 20s who lives independently in her own flat. This is more than just a job – it's a chance to help someone lead a full and meaningful life while developing your own skills and career.
About the Person You'll Support
You will be working 2:1 with a highly active and enthusiastic young woman. She loves to get out into the community and enjoys a range of activities that you’ll be supporting her with, such as:
- Swimming
- Bowling
- Arts and crafts
- Watching movies
- Listening to music and singing
- Trips to the beach
In addition to all these activities, she maintains a strong connection with her family. She visits them on weekends, once a month, and goes on holidays, which are incredibly important to her. Your role will include assisting her with these family visits and ensuring she enjoys quality time with her loved ones.
What You’ll Be Doing
While the role is full of fun and variety, it’s also important to understand that she requires patience and understanding. You’ll need to be calm, compassionate, and adaptable to support her.
You will also assist with:
- Medication administration – Emergency medication may be required, and you’ll receive full training on how to manage this.
- Meal preparation – While she can help stir food, she requires daily assistance with food prep, ensuring meals are prepared safely.
- Personal care – This is mostly prompting, including putting soap on a sponge and encouraging her in the shower.
In return for your hard work and dedication, you’ll have the chance to build meaningful relationships, develop your skills, and enjoy the satisfaction of knowing you’re helping someone live their best life. There is also free parking at the home, and it’s preferred that you’ll be able to drive (a manual car) to accompany her on outings.
You don’t need extensive experience to apply for this role – what matters most is your enthusiasm, empathy, and willingness to learn. If this sounds like the perfect role for you, we’d love to hear from you!
