Male Support Worker
£9.80 per hour
Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Are you an empathetic, non-judgemental person with the ability to maintain appropriate boundaries? Are you able to motivate others in a consistent and calm manner?
We're looking for someone who is passionate about supporting adults to increase their independent living skills whilst facilitating positive community participation.
We have a opportunity available for an energetic and resilient person to join our support team in the East Riding area, working waking night shifts on a full-time basis. Your role is to encourage healthy sleep routines and provide any assistance that may be required during the night.
You will be supporting a gentleman who loves kickboxing and wants to join a gym. He has a learning disability and a forensic history and will require support in developing and understanding his emotions, developing effective ways to communicate his needs, developing empathy for the needs of others, understanding relationships and learning about and understanding his health needs.
This is a challenging and demanding role that requires you to draw on your compassion, resilience and a non-judgemental attitude. You will need a sound understanding of risk management and the ability to maintain appropriate structures and boundaries.
We recruit based on values so whilst previous experience is always welcome, it’s certainly not essential as full specialist training and support will be provided. We just need to come with an open mind, shared values and an eagerness to learn.
Waking nights shifts are from 10pm - 7am. We’re looking for people with flexibility to work these shifts across weekdays, weekends and a share of the bank holidays. At Dimensions, we value a health work / life balance so you will receive your rota at least 4 weeks in advance.
If you have any further questions and would like to discuss the role in more detail, please call Kirsty on 07979 705 891.
To see how you will be rewarded for your hard work and commitment, please see the attached job description which details the full list of employee benefits.
At Dimensions we’re proud to be one of very few social care organisations that are members of the Great Places to Work programme 2019, 2020 & 2021.
Be the difference you want to see in the world – help others to achieve their goals!
