Male Support Workers

£10.45 per hour

Part-time, 15- 30 hours per week

Based in Hessle

This is a complex behaviour/forensic service and is better suited to experienced Support Workers

Are you an empathetic, non-judgemental person with the ability to maintain appropriate boundaries? Are you able to motivate others in a consistent and calm manner?  Do you have experience of managing behaviours that distress proactively and with an understanding of why people may behave in distressing ways? Can you connect and build strong relationships with sometimes complex individuals?

We're looking for Support Workers who are passionate about supporting adults to increase their independent living skills, well-being and engagement, whilst facilitating positive community participation.

You will be supporting a young man who has a mild learning disability, personality disorder (EUPD) and a forensic history. You will be required to support him to live safely in the community and in developing and understanding his emotions, effective ways to communicate his needs, empathy for the needs of others, understanding relationships and learning about and understanding his own health needs.

This is a challenging and demanding role that requires you to draw on your compassion, resilience and a non-judgemental attitude. You will need a sound understanding of risk management and the ability to maintain appropriate structures and boundaries.

Full specialist forensic training and support will be provided. This is a fantastic opportunity to further develop your career!

Shifts are usually 8am one day until 8am the following day with a sleep in shift included. There is also the option of joining our waking nights team who typically work 10pm - 7am. We provide support 7 days a week on a 2:1 staffing basis.

If you have any questions or to discuss the role further, please call Lauren on 07943 713 039 or Jimmy on 07879296198 Mon-Fri 9-5pm.
