Join Our Team as a Male Support Worker this Christmas and New Year!

This Christmas and New Year, why not step into a role where every day is different, and your work makes a real difference? ‘Ben’ is waiting for someone who can share his passions, support his independence, and be there for him during the highs and the lows.

If you’re ready to start a fulfilling journey, we’d love to hear from you. Apply today, and let’s make this season one to remember—for you and for ‘Ben’.

Note: Due to the location and nature of the role, public transport isn’t a viable option, so driving is a must.

  • £13.20 per hour
  • Comberton, Cambridgeshire.

Meet Ben(not his real name)

Ben is an independent and determined individual who values his routines, his relationships, and his hobbies. He lives in a two-bedroom bungalow nestled in a peaceful cul-de-sac and thrives with the 2:1 support we provide.

Ben has epilepsy and autistic traits and occasionally experiences behaviours of distress, including verbal and physical behaviours. He also has a strong sense of what’s right and wrong, so patience and empathy are essential for building trust and connection with him.

He is close to his family, maintains a strong relationship with his friends and loves taking his new car out for a spin. Recently, he’s taken up swimming and photography—and while his interests change from time to time (magnet collecting, anyone?), his enthusiasm for life remains constant.

About the role

As a support worker, your role is to empower Ben to live independently while ensuring he stays safe and happy. Some of your day-to-day responsibilities might include:

  • Encouraging Ben to explore his interests and hobbies.
  • Supporting him during outings, such as trips to the drop-in centre or swimming.
  • Helping him prepare meals (he knows what he wants—he just needs a bit of prompting!).
  • Helping with medication management (Ben is mostly independent here but may need reminders).
  • Being there when Ben experiences challenges, helping to diffuse distress and offer calm reassurance.

This is a full-time, shift-based role, with day shifts running from 7:30 am to 10:00 pm and night shifts (sleep-ins) from 9:30 pm to 7:30 am. Flexibility is key, and we’re looking for someone who’s committed to providing consistent, reliable support.

Why Join Us?

Working with us is a rewarding experience—you’ll be part of Ben’s journey, celebrating his milestones and making a real impact in his life. Beyond that, we offer an incredible benefits package, including:
