Relief Support Workers are crucial members of the team that ensure consistent care across all services during busy periods, when permanent staff are unwell or on leave and they really do make the world of difference – seeing a friendly and familiar face is so important to the people we support when permanent team members aren’t available.

You will be supporting people with learning disabilities and autism to live their lives the way they choose. You will be supporting them to engage in the activities they enjoy which can range from going bowling, going to the cinema, visiting local places of interest, going swimming, enjoying lunches out, attending day centres and supporting family visits to name a few!
Day to day you can expect to support people with their personal care, meal preparation, medication administration, grocery shopping and household tasks including cooking, cleaning and laundry.
The pay rate for a relief worker in Darlington varies depending on the people you are supporting. If you’re supporting someone with non-complex needs, it’s £9.22 per hour and for someone with complex needs it’s £10.14 per hour. Experience is required to support someone with complex needs.
Shifts can be, day shifts of varying lengths, long shifts with sleepovers and waking night shifts. We provide support 24/7 so shifts could be during the week, at weekends or on bank holidays.
