Support Worker Female

Calling all caring and compassionate carers! If you're looking for a life-changing Support Worker role where you can make a positive impact every day within your local community; a job with no costly, time-consuming commutes where you can focus on continual learning and career progression, where you can enjoy an enviable work-life balance and generous colleague benefits, a job where you can work flexibly and with like-minded people who champion inclusivity, mental health well-being, and where diversity is celebrated, then look no further than joining Dimensions, one of the UK's 'Great Places to Work' 2022.

About the Role

In northeast Cardiff (CF23), we support four lovely ladies aged 30 - 66 to live their best lives - the rich and fulfilling lives that they choose for themselves. We achieve this by being actively and enthusiastically engaged in everything they do, day or night. We encourage and empower them to try new things; make amazing memories, and to live as independently as they can whilst respectfully providing personal care and mobility assistance when required.

Your everyday duties will include (but aren't limited to) accompanying them on trips and to appointments, being involved in their hobbies, helping them to achieve their aspirations, supporting them in looking after their finances, and helping out around their house so that the environment they're in is always clean, sanitary, and safe. You'll also be expected to safeguard them from risks and write/maintain written records whenever needed, i.e., risk assessments, observation logs, and other records.

Please note, it is an essential requirement of this full-time role to hold a drivers license, and that gender is considered to be a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with paragraph 1 of Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010.

The Honest Bit

At Dimensions, we value candor; which is why we want to tell you that whilst being a support worker is a deeply fulfilling and meaningful role - a role that gives you purpose, and a true sense of accomplishment and satisfaction - it is a job that will, on occasion, push you to your emotional and physical limits. Bonding with people; sharing your life with them, and learning the true art of care, can be both a blessing and a bane. But, for those resilient and courageous enough to recognise that if something makes you feel nervous and asks you to push yourself in order to grow - then it's absolutely something worth doing - despite the possible challenges.

So, if you're sincere about starting a career in care or you're an experienced carer looking to work with a pioneering, award-winning organsiation who cares just as much about you as we do the people we support, don't let nerves hold you back from applying! We can - and will - support you in achieving your aspirations; we will help you live a better life too.
