Are you looking for a career where you can make a real and meaningful difference to the lives of others?
Support Work is a fantastic career choice that allows you to do just that! At Dimensions, you’ll receive full training and support every step of the way, making us a fantastic choice if you’re looking for a career change, are re-entering the workforce after a break or if you have some fantastic experience under your belt already and you’re looking for your next challenge – whatever your level of experience, we’d love to hear from you!
We’re currently supporting 14 fabulous people aged between their 30s and 80s who live in 3 houses on the same road in Sheffield. The people we support have learning disabilities, autism, epilepsy, and physical disabilities which include being registered deaf and blind. Some of the people we support are wheelchair users so there are elements of moving and handling involved. Full training is provided.
Your role is to support the people we support to live their lives the way they choose. Everyone has their own interests, hobbies and activities and it’s our role to support and encourage people’s engagement in doing the things they love and enjoy. For some of the people we support, they love listening to 60s and 70s music, cooking, baking, visiting friends and family and going on holidays, both in the UK and abroad. Others prefer walking in quiet areas, going out for meals, going to the cinema or watching sports – wrestling and football are firm favourites!
Day to day your role will be to support individuals with their personal care needs, meal preparation, medication administration, grocery shopping, and household tasks including cooking, cleaning and laundry.
Day shifts are 7am – 9pm (one gentleman’s day shift is 10am – 10pm). Waking night shifts are 9pm – 7:30am. We’re looking for people who can work flexibly on the rota working a combination of these shifts across weekdays, weekends and your share of bank holidays. At Dimensions, we value a healthy work / life balance so you will receive your rota 4 weeks in advance.
There is driveway parking available for staff cars and good public transport links.
For further information about the role, please contact Michaela on 07384 215 621.
