Support Worker

Dimensions Forensic Services are an award winning community support provider for people who have a mild to moderate learning disability and Autism.

We are looking to recruit a motivated and energetic Support Worker to provide support to a young male with a mild learning disability in the Croydon area. You will work on a flexible rota, this includes, early and late shifts as well as sleep-in shifts.

The person we support loves going for a bike ride, playing football and having a BBQ. As well as going shopping.

An important part of supporting people at Dimensions is to support their development in order for them to live as independently as possible within the community. This gentleman will need support in developing and understanding his emotions, developing effective ways to communicate his needs, developing empathy for the needs of others, understanding relationships, learning and understanding his health needs and being able to ask for help. To do this you will need a sound understanding of managing risk to maintain appropriate structures and boundaries, as well as a non-judgemental attitude.

You will need to have a sound working knowledge of Autism and people who have learning disabilities and be passionate about supporting adults to increase their independent living skills. We are looking for people with a good knowledge of opportunities in the local area and a good understanding of community connections work.

If you are successful at interview, we will invite you to meet with the Person We Support to ensure you both want to work together.

Dimensions is proud to be one of very few social care organisations that are members of the Great Places To Work programme 2019, 2020 & 2021.

The Rewards:

In return, we offer;

  • A generous training programme, including Learning Disability Qualifications and a Diploma in Health and Social Care.
  • A bespoke induction package to orientate you to the Dimensions Forensic model of support.
  • A pension scheme with contribution by Dimensions.
  • Employee reward scheme, where you can save money every day on shopping or even larger purchases like holidays.

Successful applicants will undergo an Enhanced DBS check (paid for by us).
