Experience with complex behaviours is desirable

Start your day knowing you'll make a difference - join our team of Support Workers in Leeds and create a positive difference in the lives of others!

We’re looking for fabulous people to join an existing team supporting 4 adult males under the age of 40 to continue to develop their independent living skills. The gentlemen you will be supporting have mild to moderate learning disabilities, autism and they can display and experience behaviours of distress.

In this role you will be providing support with personal care (varying degrees of independence), medication administration, finances and household tasks such as cooking, cleaning and laundry. This is in addition to supporting the young men to engage in the activities they enjoy and encourage them to further develop their interests. They love gaming, walking, going to the gym, going to the cinema, eating out, losing weight healthily, going on holidays, seeing their families, going bowling, going trampolining and watching SpongeBob Square Pants, to name a few! They’re active and sociable with the right support and are looking for Support Workers with a similar lifestyle to keep up with their interests and to support them through their behaviours of distress.

We’re looking for people to join either the “days and sleepovers” team or the “waking nights” team.

If you join the waking nights team, in addition to the tasks mentioned above, you’ll also be responsible for encouraging healthy sleep routines and providing any assistance that may be required during the night.

Due to complex behaviours, we feel these role are more suited to people with previous experience.

Apply online only. If you have any further questions and would like to discuss the role in more detail, please call Lauren on 07943 713 039.
