Who will I be supporting?

  • Two lovely ladies and a gentleman in their early 20s who will soon be moving in to their first supported living home
  • They have autism, learning disabilities, visual impairments and the gentleman communicates via body language and sign language
  • They attend college, day services and work placements and like a lot of young people, they love being out and about socialising with their friends, spending time on social media and going to the pub for food
  • They have loving and supportive families who they enjoy spending time with

What will I be doing?

  • The young people are currently living with their families, so moving into their own home will be a big step for them. We are looking for patient, empathetic, and positive people to support them through this next important stage of their lives
  • We want to ensure the young people feel as safe and settled as possible in their new home, so you will spend some time with them either at home with their families or at college before their moving in date, so that you can all get to know each other better
  • Once they are living in their own home, you will be supporting them to live their lives how they choose, to be themselves and to achieve their goals
  • Support will include prompting with personal care, meal preparation, medication administration, budgeting, cooking, cleaning, and laundry

What shifts are available?

  • Exact shifts times haven’t been confirmed yet but will include days, days with sleepovers and waking nights (waking nights are likely to switch to sleepovers after the transition period and once everyone is feeling settled)
  • We provide support 7 days a week
  • Rotas are provided at least 4 weeks in advance
