Support Worker
Full time - 37.5 hours

This exciting job opportunity will involve you supporting a gentleman in his own home with down syndrome. He has a fantastic sense humour and is brilliant with impressions. He is looking for someone to support him with his daily tasks and activities which include going to charity shops, dancing, listening to music and getting creative with arts and crafts and colouring books. He also likes to cook and keeps fit by playing sports with his support staff, whilst taking regualr trips to the seaside to enjoy the sand and sea.
He has recently moved closer to town and his family and hopes to become more physically active now that he is within walking distance of many more activities.

In this role, it’s likely that you will experience some behaviours of distress which is very well managed and all appropriate training will be provided, along with the knowledge and support of the existing team, you will learn how best to respond in these situations.
The shifts can vary but are usually 8:30am-11pm then sleep over shift from 11pm-7am and then working again until 8:30am. 24 hours in total. The are two support workers on shift during the day and one support worker overnight.
We recruit based on values so whilst previous experience is always welcome, it’s certainly not essential as full training, and support to obtain the relevant qualifications, will be provided.
