Churwell/Morley

This is a complex forensic, mental health, single person supported living setting and is better suited to experienced Support Workers.

We are currently supporting a young lady in her early 30s who has complex needs in the Churwell/Morley area, and we’re looking for resilient, empathetic, and non-judgemental people to join her fabulous support team!

This young lady has a learning disability, a personality disorder, and a forensic history. She loves being around animals and hopes to volunteer as a dog walker and own her own cat in the near future. She also really enjoys PlayStation and Nintendo Switch games and will often seek your advice on how she can get to the next level! She’s a very sociable and chatty person and likes to be out and about and getting involved in a range of activities.

She has recently transitioned from a long term hospital stay, to being supported in her lovely home in the community. She is independent when it comes to her personal care and appreciates friendly reminders and encouragement to complete her routines. She requires prompting/active support with her meal preparation, medication, grocery shopping and household tasks including cooking, cleaning and laundry.

You will need a sound understanding of risk management to maintain appropriate structures and boundaries that will enable you to support this young lady to reach her goals. Specialised training will be provided and a good pay rate is offered.

You will be joining the days and sleeps team who typically work 10am one day, until 4pm the following day. This lady also has a separate team who support with waking nights.
