Who will I be supporting?

  • A lovely gentleman in his early 20s who is supported to live independently
  • He has autism and communicates without words
  • He loves walking in open spaces, going out for a drive, watching TV and engaging in sensory activities like water-based play
  • He has a great relationship with his family – his Mum and other family members visit him regularly and his Dad often plays his guitar to him over Skype, which he loves!
  • This gentleman can often experience behaviours of distress so previous experience supporting people with autism and complex behaviours is essential

What will I be doing?

  • You will be supporting him to live his life how he chooses, to be himself and to achieve his goals
  • This gentleman is looking for support with daily tasks such as his personal care, medication, cooking, cleaning, and laundry
  • He has his own vehicle to further aid his independence so it’s essential that all members of his support team have a full UK/EU licence and are comfortable driving an automatic car

What shifts are available?

  • He is supported 2:1 during the day and 1:1 during the night
  • We're currently recruiting to his day team where you would work 6-8 hours per day with start and finish times between the hours of 9am and 9pm
  • If you wanted to work longer shifts, we have some available starting 9am one day and finishing at 9am the following day with a sleepover shift included (10pm – 7am) but this wouldn't be required
  • Rotas are provided at least 4 weeks in advance to support a healthy work/life balance
