Support Worker

For over three decades, Dimensions has proven that life can - and does - get better for people with learning disabilities and/or autism. And as one of the UK's 'Greatest Places to Work', we can prove that your life can - and will - get better too! With new, higher rates of pay; no costly, time-consuming commutes, an enviable work-life balance with shift flexibility, meaningful and rewarding duties, generous colleague benefits, and on-going, fully-funded training and mentoring, there's no better time to join us as a Support Worker in Witney, than now!

Who You'll Be Supporting

In Witney, four wonderful people would love to welcome upbeat, compassionate, and conscientious people into their home to support them in living their best lives - the lives that they choose to live. The two ladies and two gentlemen we support here have their own bespoke support plans; hobbies, aspirations, and dreams, and they'd really appreciate it if you got in touch with Locality Manager, Shelley, (07342 990 381 or shelley.devitt@dimensions-uk.org) to find out more about them; who they are, what makes them tick, and what they enjoy doing, etc. You can also ask Shelley for more information about our Support Worker roles around Oxfordshire, and the shifts we have available.

What You'll Be Doing as a Dimensions Support Worker

Working in partnership with your new colleagues and the families of those we support, you will:

  • Empower and encourage the people who've welcomed us into their home to live richer, more fulfilling lives. You'll achieve this by being actively and enthusiastically engaged in every aspect of their day (and night!). This can include being involved in their hobbies; taking them to run errands, helping them try new things, supporting them with their finances, etc.
  • Respectfully provide personal care, mobility assistance, and mealtime/PEG feeding support.
  • Safeguard the people we support by ensuring they're always happy and comfortable, and that their environment is clean and sanitary, and free from risk.
  • Write and maintain written records (i.e. observation logs, risk assessments, through the night checks, etc.)

Why Join Dimensions?

As one of the country’s largest award-winning, not-for-profit organisations supporting people with learning disabilities, autism, behaviours of distress and complex needs, we are driven by our values, so, previous experience and having healthcare qualifications are not an essential requirement to be considered for this role. Neither is being a driver. With us, you'll receive all the training, support, and benefits you'll need to reach your full potential.
