We're looking for a compassionate, patient, and resilient person - someone bright and upbeat, with great people and communication skills who demonstrates courage and ambition - to join our close-knit team of support workers based in Reading to work with us for a minimum of 25 hours per week. Shifts will include long days (12-hour shifts) and regular sleep ins (2 - 3 per week).
By working in close partnership with the people who've welcomed us into their home; their families, and your new colleagues, you'll be expected to:
- Empower and encourage the people we support to live their best lives - the lives that they choose to live. You'll achieve this by being actively and enthusiastically engaged with everything they wish to do, including; being involved in their hobbies, accompanying them on days out and to appointments, supporting them with their finances, and encouraging them to try new things and achieve their aspirations. Most of all, you'll help them feel happy, be healthy, and make great memories.
- Respectfully provide prompting, personal care, mobility assistance and meal-time support if/when required.
- Administer medications if/when required.
- On nights, ensure that "keeping safe" checks are completed
- Safeguard the people we support so that they are always comfortable, and that the environments they're in are always clean, sanitary, and safe from risks
- Write and maintain records i.e., observation logs, risk assessments, financial records, etc.
