About the role

“Ben” is recruiting great Support Workers; people with the right values and behaviours to support him in his home in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire. If you are looking to inject fun into your career, then come and join this team!

Dimensions are supporting this gentleman to live independently. He has a variety of hobbies and interests that are important to him such as running (often 5k or half marathons), his charity and voluntary work in a café and going to the horse stables on Saturday mornings with his friend.

If this doesn't give you enough variety in your role, then “Ben” is also highly creative, he loves woodwork and making items to sell at craft fairs. He often makes his own bird boxes and candles; he would want his support team to get involved and learn along the way with him.

Full training on how to provide exceptional person-centred support will be provided, so if you have ever considered becoming a Support Worker but you were not sure where to start, this would be a fantastic opportunity!

What will I be doing?

  • Encourage and empower him to live his best life - the life that he chooses. You will achieve this by being active and enthusiastic, involved in every aspect of his daily life.
  • Help him to shop for things he wishes to buy including clothes and food, and to support with preparing meals as required.
  • Encourage, support, and teach him to do their housework, including cleaning and laundry.
  • Recognise that every moment has potential.
  • Celebrate what he can do for himself.
  • Working in a supportive manner with colleagues, families, and external parties, building trust by being open and honest.
  • Helping the person we support to manage their own money.

Shift patterns will be 9am-5pm/ 5pm-10pm plus a sleep-in shift till 9am & 9am-10pm plus a sleep. The successful applicant must be willing to work alternative weekends and occasional bank holidays.
