At Dimensions, we believe everyone deserves the chance to live life to the full. We’re looking for caring, energetic people to join our team in Colchester, supporting four gentlemen aged between 45 and 65 in their home.

This is a lively, sociable house with great bus routes and just a short trip from Colchester Zoo. The four men who live here enjoy active and outgoing lives. Two of them have jobs they are proud of, while the other two love spending time at their day centres, social clubs, and keeping up with karaoke nights, dancing, and trips to the pub. Family is very important to them, and you’ll play a key role in helping them stay connected with loved ones.

Each gentleman has his own personality and interests. They have learning disabilities and autism, but no complex needs. Two of the men need support with personal care, such as showering, and you’ll also be helping with weight management, hospital appointments, medication, and supporting one gentleman who is getting a power wheelchair. Staff cook meals in the house, and you’ll be part of creating a homely environment where confidence, independence, and fun are encouraged every day.

Shifts are varied, with a mix of shorter and longer days, including 9am–3pm, 2pm–6pm, 7am–9pm, and split shifts such as 7am–2:30pm or 2:30pm–9pm. Every other weekend you’ll work both days, but there are no night shifts.

We’re looking for people with a positive personality and a caring nature, someone who enjoys being active and sociable, and who wants to make a real difference.
