About the role

- Full time and part time hours considered (including wake night vacancies)
- £13.78 per hour
We’re looking for an experienced female Support Worker to join our complex supported living home in Edgware, London, earning £13.78 per hour. We have full-time and part-time roles available, with day shifts and waking night contracts. Typical shifts include 7:00am–2:30pm, 2:15pm–9:45pm, and 9:45pm–7:15am.
This is a highly specialist role providing 2:1 support to a young woman in her early 30s who lives independently in her own home. To be successful, you must have proven experience supporting individuals who present with behaviours of distress. We’re seeking someone confident, emotionally resilient, and skilled in working within a complex needs environment.
Your role will focus on helping her feel safe, understood, and empowered in her daily life, so a warm, creative, and engaging approach will really help build a positive relationship. Support includes routines such as meal preparation and personal care.
You’ll be working within an established Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) framework and will receive specialist training as part of your induction. Consistency, calmness, and patience are essential, as you’ll need to adapt to changing needs while maintaining a person-centred and trauma-informed approach.
About you
- Demonstrable experience supporting people with behaviours of distress in a specialist or complex setting.
- Experience working with people with learning disabilities and autism.
- Confident communicator, including using alternative communication methods.
- Comfortable with personal care, medication administration, record keeping, and flexible shift working.
- Emotionally resilient, empathetic, and aligned with our values.
