About the role
Join our dedicated team supporting three ladies aged between 25 and 61 in a supported living bungalow in King's Lynn. The women we support lead busy, active and fulfilling lives, and we're looking for someone who is passionate about helping them continue to enjoy the things they love while developing their independence and confidence.
As a Support Worker, you'll provide person-centred support tailored to each individual's needs. This includes supporting with personal care, medication, meal planning and preparation, household tasks, health appointments and daily routines. You'll encourage the people we support to develop skills around the home and make choices about how they want to live their lives.
This is a highly varied role where you could be supporting someone to attend a day service, accompanying them on shopping trips, days out, holidays, cinema visits, concerts or pantomimes, or simply enjoying a chat about their favourite TV programmes. The ladies enjoy living life to the fullest and are always keen to try new experiences.
You'll work as part of a supportive team, although there will be opportunities for lone working during some 1:1 support hours. One of the ladies uses a wheelchair when out in the community, and full training will be provided to ensure you can provide safe and confident support.
This home operates 24 hour support, 7 days a week, so you'll need to be fully flexible and able to work a mixture of early shifts, late shifts, sleep-ins and weekends. A manual driving licence is essential, as you'll be required to drive the people we support in their mobility vehicle.
About you
You don't need previous experience in care to join us, but you do need the right values, a positive attitude and a genuine passion for supporting people to live great lives.
You'll be someone who enjoys building strong relationships, can bring energy and enthusiasm to each day, and is happy supporting people with all aspects of daily life. You'll be patient, compassionate and able to adapt your approach to meet individual needs while promoting independence, dignity and choice.
You'll need to be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, using your initiative during periods of lone working and maintaining accurate records when required. Good communication skills are important, as you'll work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to provide high-quality support.
