About the roleWe're looking for caring, proactive and enthusiastic Female Support Workers to join our team in Worcester (WR2), supporting four adults aged between their 40s and 70s.
The people we support include people with learning disabilities and autistic people. Two ladies are blind, one gentleman has epilepsy that is well managed with medication, and three people communicate without words, using expressions, sounds, gestures and other individual ways of communicating.
We're also excited to be welcoming a new lady to the home. She uses a wheelchair, requires hoisting support and communicates primarily through eye movements and facial expressions. Taking the time to understand her communication style and preferences will be an important and rewarding part of the role.
She enjoys:

The people you support enjoy:

• Relaxing in sensory spaces, including using a water bed
Support includes:
• Supporting people with their personal care
• Using hoists and specialist equipment
• Supporting wheelchair users
• Supporting people with eating and drinking
• Meal preparation
• Administering medication, including epilepsy medication support
• Supporting communication in personalised ways
• Supporting people to do the things that matter to them
• Encouraging people to explore new opportunities, interests and experiences
• Supporting people to attend activities, appointments and social events
Shifts• 8:00am – 4:00pm
• 1:00pm – 9:00pm
• Long day: 8:00am – 9:00pm
• Sleep-in: 10:00pm – 7:30am (£50 paid to sleep)
There are also opportunities for additional hours and overtime, particularly outside of college term times.
Rotas are provided in advance to support planning and work–life balance.
