– Current Support Worker
We’re looking for an experienced and compassionate Lead Support Worker to join our Bath service on a 6-month fixed-term contract. You’ll work alongside a warm, skilled team supporting eight adults (six men and two women) aged 40–60 with complex health needs.
As a Lead Support Worker, you’ll play an important role in ensuring the people we support receive high-quality, person-centred care. Working closely with your Locality Manager and Assistant Locality Manager, you’ll be supported while also becoming a trusted guide and role model for your colleagues. This role blends hands-on support with leadership, giving you the opportunity to make a meaningful difference every day.
Your work will be varied and rewarding. You’ll help people build independence, develop new skills and make choices that reflect the life they want to live. Using approaches such as Activate and Active Support, you’ll set meaningful goals and recognise the potential in everyday moments.
You’ll support with daily routines — including personal care, medication, PEG feeding, meal preparation, shopping and maintaining a comfortable home — ensuring each person feels respected, involved and safe. You’ll also follow Speech & Language Therapy (SALT) guidance to support safe feeding and effective communication.
Alongside direct support, you’ll play a key part in mentoring and coaching Support Workers. You’ll share good practice, offer thoughtful feedback, support continuous improvement and help foster a positive, inclusive team culture.
Building strong relationships with families, healthcare professionals and colleagues is central to this role, as is understanding and respecting cultural needs, including dietary requirements for people from Muslim backgrounds.
If you’re someone who leads with kindness, enjoys empowering others and finds purpose in helping people live fulfilling lives, you’ll feel valued and inspired in this role.
About youYou’ll be a great fit for this role if you:
