About the role
As a Support Worker, you’ll play a key role in helping people live active, enjoyable and meaningful lives. No two days will be the same. You might be supporting someone to go for a walk, head out bowling, enjoy their favourite music, go swimming, bake or cook together, get creative with crafts, visit family, go shopping, or simply enjoy a relaxing drive. Holidays, day trips and being part of the local community are also important and regular parts of their week.
Alongside supporting people to do the things they love, you’ll also provide practical day-to-day support. This includes helping with personal care, preparing meals, keeping the home clean and welcoming, attending appointments and promoting independence wherever possible.
You’ll work to a set rota that includes early shifts, late shifts, long days, mid-shifts and sleep-ins. You’ll also work every other weekend as part of a consistent two-week rolling pattern, helping to provide stability for the people you support.
As getting out and about is a key part of this role, you must hold a full UK manual driving licence and feel confident driving the people we support in their own vehicles.
About you
We’re looking for someone whose values shine through in everything they do — someone patient, reliable, honest, and committed. You should be a person who does what they say they will do, is calm and consistent, and genuinely cares about helping others live the life they choose. Strong communication skills are essential so that the people we support feel safe, respected and fully understood.
