About the role

We’re looking for a calm, patient and confident Male Support Worker to join our team in Stafford (ST16), supporting a gentleman in his 30s with autism and learning disabilities.

This is a 1:1 lone-working role, ideal for someone who values building trust, respecting boundaries and supporting independence. You’ll play an important role in creating a safe, predictable and supportive environment where he can feel comfortable and in control of his day.

Who you will be supporting

You’ll be supporting a quiet and independent individual who values routine, space and consistency.

He enjoys:

  • Vacuuming — even creating tasks just for the satisfaction of completing them
  • Gardening and being outdoors
  • Going for walks, where support is provided at a respectful distance
  • Weekly train journeys to visit his parents in Wolverhampton

He takes time to build relationships, so patience, consistency and a calm approach are essential.

What you will be doing

You’ll provide personalised, person-centred support, including:

  • Supporting daily routines and independence
  • Preparing meals and supporting healthy routines
  • Administering medication
  • Using a calm, confident approach to behaviours of distress
  • Maintaining a structured, predictable environment
  • Supporting community activities such as walks and travel
  • Building a steady, trusting relationship over time

This role requires confidence in lone working, with the ability to remain composed and responsive.

Shift patterns

This is a full-time role worked across:

  • Long day + sleep-in: 7:00am – 7:00am (next day)
  • Sleep-in: 10:00pm – 7:00am (£50 paid to sleep)

Rotas are provided in advance to support a healthy work–life balance.

About you

You’ll be a great fit if you are:

  • Calm, patient and emotionally resilient
  • Confident supporting behaviours of distress
  • Comfortable working independently in a lone working role
  • Respectful of personal space and boundaries
  • Consistent, reliable and structured in your approach
  • A good communicator who builds trust over time
  • A confident driver

Experience in Positive Behaviour Support or similar is preferred, but training will be provided.

Rewards that make a difference

  • A competitive pay rate with uplift for overtime you choose to work
  • Flexible shift patterns to support your work–life balance
  • 30 days’ paid annual leave (including public holidays – pro rata)
  • Opportunities for career progression
  • Supported Learn to Drive scheme
  • Salary advance scheme – access up to 50% earned pay before payday
  • High Street discounts (shopping, entertainment, gyms, dining)
  • Life Assurance and Company Pension
  • Industry-leading training
  • Enhanced DBS paid for by us
