About the role

We're looking for a calm, patient and confident Male Support Worker to support a gentleman in his 30s who is autistic and has learning disabilities.

This is a 1:1 lone-working role where consistency, patience and trust are essential.

The gentleman you will support enjoys:

• Vacuuming and household tasks

• Gardening and being outdoors

• Going for walks, where support is provided at a respectful distance

• Weekly train journeys to visit his parents in Wolverhampton

Your role will include:

• Supporting daily routines and independence

• Supporting meal preparation and healthy routines

• Administering medication

• Using a calm and confident approach during behaviours of distress

• Helping to maintain a structured and predictable environment

• Supporting him to do the things that matter to him, including walks, train travel and family visits

• Building a trusting relationship over time

Shifts:

• Long day + sleep-in: 7:00am – 7:00am (next day)

• Sleep-in: 10:00pm – 7:00am (£50 paid to sleep)

Rotas are provided in advance to support work–life balance.

About you

You'll be a great fit if you are:

• Calm, patient and emotionally resilient

• Comfortable working independently in a lone-working role

• Confident supporting behaviours of distress

• Reliable, consistent and organised in your approach

• A good communicator who can build trust over time

Experience in Positive Behaviour Support is beneficial, but full training will be provided.
