About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced female Relief Support Worker to work flexibly across our homes in Stowmarket, Bury St Edmunds, and Garboldisham. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, is confident adapting to different environments, and thrives on building relationships with people who have learning disabilities, autism, and a range of support needs.
As a relief worker, you’ll play an essential role in maintaining continuity of high-quality support. You’ll support people with daily living skills, personal care, household tasks and routines, following personalised support plans and using our evidence-based Activate approach to recognise potential in every moment. You’ll work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and professionals, always promoting dignity, choice, and independence.
This role includes day shifts, waking nights and sleep-ins, providing you with flexibility while offering vital support to our teams across the three localities. You will be expected to use digital systems for record-keeping, follow health and safety processes, and uphold confidentiality at all times.
As you’ll be travelling between homes and supporting people with community access, a driver with your own vehicle is essential.
About youYou will share our core values of Ambition, Courage, Integrity, Partnership and Respect, which guide everything we do. You’ll bring at least one year of professional experience as a Support Worker or in a similar field and be confident supporting people with personal care, medication, communication needs, and varied levels of independence.
You’ll be adaptable and resilient, able to respond calmly to challenging situations, and comfortable supporting people one-to-one or as part of a wider team. You’ll have strong communication skills, including the ability to listen well and adapt your style to meet individual needs. You’ll also need basic digital literacy to complete records and e-learning requirements.
Most importantly, you’ll bring reliability and a commitment to supporting people to live the lives they choose.
