About the role
- Relief Support Worker
- Southend and Rochford
- £12.46 per hour
- Full UK driving licence essential,
We are recruiting Relief Support Workers to join our teams across two homes in Southend and Rochford. Due to the location of the homes, being a driver is essential, although a motorbike licence can be considered if you can reliably travel to the homes.
As a Relief Support Worker, you will work flexibly across both homes, supporting adults with learning disabilities and/or autism to live independently and enjoy their routines. You will provide person centred support tailored to the individuals in each home, ensuring each person has choice and control over their lives.
The people you may support enjoy:
- Being out and about — seafront trips, shopping, cafés, meals out, visiting places of interest.
- Creative hobbies such as art, writing, crafts, reading and social media.
- Gym sessions, day centres, pottery, college groups and social clubs.
- Occasional nightlife activities including weekly inclusive club nights.
- Spending time with animals (some individuals may have pets who stay occasionally).
Your responsibilities will include:
- Encouraging independence and supporting daily living skills.
- Assisting with cooking, meal preparation and healthy living.
- Providing reassurance with personal care where required.
- Maintaining accurate records, safeguarding logs and person-centred documentation.
- Building warm, respectful, trusting relationships.
- Working flexibly across both homes depending on the needs of each home.
As a relief worker, you can pick up shifts that suit your availability. Typical shifts may include early, late, and weekend hours.
About you

- Have a full driving licence (motorbike considered).
No previous experience is required, just the right values and desire to make a difference. Full training is provided.
