Safeguarding Panel Chair

Help shape a safeguarding culture where people’s rights, voices and lives truly matter.

For 50 years, Dimensions has supported adults with learning disabilities and autistic people to live with greater choice, control and independence. Everything we do is rooted in our belief in better lives for more people – and safeguarding is fundamental to making that vision a reality.

We are now seeking a Safeguarding Panel Chair who not only brings deep safeguarding expertise, but who strongly aligns to our values and shares our commitment to dignity, human rights and person-centred support.

About the role

As Chair of the Group Safeguarding Panel, you will provide independent leadership and constructive challenge, ensuring robust oversight, strong assurance and continuous learning across the organisation.

The Panel plays a critical governance role, offering assurance to the Group Board that safeguarding responsibilities are fully embedded in everyday practice and that concerns are addressed openly, proportionately and with the individual at the centre.

Occasional visits to engage with people we support and colleagues will form a valuable part of the role.

The person we’re looking for

We are looking for someone with significant safeguarding experience at senior operational or strategic level, ideally within social care, health or a related sector. However, how you work is just as important to us as what you know.

You will be someone who:

  • Lives our values of Ambition, Courage, Integrity, Partnership and Respect
  • Is passionate about protecting rights, promoting dignity and improving outcomes for people in vulnerable situations
  • Provides challenge with empathy, curiosity and integrity
  • Is confident chairing complex discussions while ensuring all voices are heard
  • Is committed to equality, inclusion and amplifying lived experience

We are particularly interested in candidates who bring their whole self to governance – your professional insight, personal values and life experience all matter.

Practical details

  • Time commitment: Approximately 12–15 days per year
  • Term: 3 years from August 2026
  • Remuneration: £4,500 per annum

Interested?

If this role resonates with your values and experience, we would love to hear from you.

Closing date: 29 May 2026
Interviews: 29 June 2026 (virtual)
