FULL TRAINING PROVIDED

At Dimensions, your growth is our shared journey – with the flexibility to fit work around your life. From your first shift, you’ll be supported to build confidence, learn new skills, and develop in ways that matter to you. Through Dimensions Academy and our award-winning Aspire programme, you’ll get one-to-one coaching, practical training, and clear pathways to progress. Because when you grow, the people you support do too – and together we create brighter, fuller lives.

We are looking for an experienced female Support Worker to provide compassionate, consistent and trauma-informed support to a young woman with a mild learning disability. This is a highly relational role that requires emotional stability, patience and a nurturing approach.

The lady we support is a warm, sociable and engaging individual who enjoys being around others and feels most secure when supported by people she knows and trusts. She values honesty, kindness and clear boundaries, and responds best to staff who are calm, patient and emotionally attuned.

She enjoys:

Talking and building connections
Shared humour and light-hearted conversation
Creative activities
Predictable routines that help her feel safe and settled

At times, she can become overwhelmed — particularly when routines change unexpectedly, when environments feel chaotic, or when she feels misunderstood or judged. This may present as anxiety, withdrawal or verbal frustration. With the right support, reassurance and structure, she is able to re-engage and move forward positively.

She has a caring nature, wants to do well, and thrives when supported by staff who help her feel grounded, understood and secure.

The Role

You will provide steady, trauma-informed and relational support, helping her to build confidence, emotional regulation skills and independence at a pace that feels safe for her.

Support will include:

Offering calm reassurance and emotional regulation support
Helping to establish and maintain predictable daily routines
Supporting independent-living skills such as budgeting, meal planning and home management
Assisting with appointments and community access
Supporting her to navigate social situations confidently and safely
Providing clear, compassionate guidance while maintaining professional boundaries

This role requires emotional resilience, consistency and empathy, as well as the ability to remain calm and supportive during moments of distress.

This role would suit someone who is:

Experienced in trauma-informed or emotionally complex support
Calm, patient and able to provide consistent reassurance
Emotionally grounded and confident offering structure
Compassionate, honest and nurturing in their approach
Comfortable building supportive relationships based on trust and boundaries

Shifts -  10am - 10pm + sleep in
