About the role?

We’re looking for caring, fun and reliable support workers to support Charlotte, a wonderful lady in her 20s with complex epilepsy and autism, in her family home in Guisborough. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference every night.

About Charlotte

Charlotte is a bright, cheeky and warm young woman who loves to laugh. She enjoys:

Books
 Her iPad
 DVDs
 Soft toys
 YouTube videos

She also has a playful relationship with the family dog, who she loves spending time with.

Charlotte can be stubborn at times, but this is part of her personality, and she responds really well to staff who are consistent, calm and confident.

Health & Support Needs

Charlotte has complex epilepsy and requires monitoring, including while she sleeps, in case of seizures. She also has a PEG fitted and receives all fluids through this.

Every night, you’ll help create a safe, calm, and comforting environment for the people we support.
Your role will include:

  • Evening routines and helping her settle safely into bed
  • Monitoring her overnight for seizures
  • Personal care
  • Administering medication (training provided)
  • Morning routines, including showering and dressing
  • Maintaining a clean, hygienic space so that the environment is welcoming and safe.
  • Recording important information using our easy-to-use IT systems – from support plans to health and safety logs – so we can provide the best care possible.

Full training will be provided, and you will be supported to feel confident in all aspects of her care.

About you?

We’re looking for someone who brings compassion, reliability, and a genuine desire to make a difference. You’ll thrive in this role if you:

  • Are fun, positive and able to bring joy into Charlotte’s day
  • Care deeply about people and want to help create safe, positive nights for those who need support.
  • Are firm, consistent and able to provide clear boundaries even when things feel challenging – your presence makes a difference.
  • Are patient, calm and confident
  • Are comfortable supporting people with complex health needs (training provided)
  • Are comfortable using technology to keep accurate records and follow support plans.
