About Dimensions

At Dimensions, we believe in supporting people to live the life they choose. Guided by our values of Ambition, Respect, Courage, Integrity, and Partnership, we work alongside people with learning disabilities and autistic people to enable independence, inclusion, and opportunity. As one of the UK’s leading not-for-profit providers of personalised support, we’re committed to doing what’s right and empowering our colleagues to make a lasting difference every day.

About the role

  • Support Worker
  • Part time – 22.5 hours per week
  • Melton, Woodbridge, Ipswich, IP12

We’re looking for a Support Worker to join our small, friendly team in Woodbridge. This is a 22.5-hour part-time role, and sleep-ins are an essential part of the rota.

You’ll be supporting one gentleman who lives in his own flat. He enjoys an active lifestyle and loves getting out every day, whether that’s catching buses and trains, enjoying lunch out, visiting arcades, or planning holidays. He thrives on a predictable routine and uses a visual staff board to organise his week.

Your role will be rewarding and varied. You will:

  • Support him to live as independently as possible, recognising and celebrating what he can do for himself.
  • Encourage new skills and positive experiences using the Dimensions Activate approach.
  • Help plan and deliver weekly hobbies, ensuring he has choice and control.
  • Prompt daily living routines such as personal hygiene and taking medication.
  • Assist with shopping, meal preparation, cleaning, and housework.
  • Support him to reconnect with family and friends, including potential monthly home visits.
  • Accompany him on public transport, with occasional longer trips (including London).

Shift pattern: You’ll work a mix of long-day shifts with a sleep-in and shorter 7.5-hour early or late shifts as part of a rotating pattern.

About you

You don’t need previous experience, just the right values, willingness to learn, and a genuine desire to support someone to live a great life. We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Values-led, and able to show honesty, respect, and compassion in your work.
  • Patient and consistent, as routine and structure are key to this gentleman’s wellbeing.
  • Confident travelling on public transport, sometimes for longer journeys.
  • Able to listen well, understand what’s important to the people you support, and adapt your communication style.
  • Willing to learn, complete training, and use basic IT for recording and updating support information

What matters most is your commitment to empowering someone to live their life in the way they choose.
