About Dimensions
A role where you can be you. At Dimensions, you can bring your whole self to work – and be celebrated for it. You’ll support people with learning disabilities and/or autism to live independently, building confidence and joy every day. “I can be myself and really make a difference” – current Support Worker. With wellbeing at the heart of our culture and growth through Aspire and Dimensions Academy, this is more than a job – it’s a place to truly be you.
About the Role
If you’re someone who enjoys trains, cosy coffee shops, Disney films, and days that never look quite the same, this could be the ideal role for you.
We’re seeking a patient, positive, and proactive Support Worker to work one-to-one with a gentleman in his 30s who wants to live life his way—with independence, structure, and plenty of choice. He’s a big fan of model railways, café trips, zoos and theme parks, theatre shows, and relaxing with YouTube, Disney favourites, and The Masked Singer.
Some days he’s enthusiastic, energetic, and eager to get out and explore; other days he may need reassurance, space, and gentle encouragement. Your calm, consistent, and creative approach will help him feel understood, supported, and confident.
He lives with Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), meaning everyday tasks can sometimes feel overwhelming. He may postpone or resist routines, or become anxious when pressures build. You’ll support him using low-demand strategies—offering options, giving time and space, recognising emotions, and working at his pace so he feels empowered and in control. The role includes personal care, daily routines, meal preparation, maintaining his home, planning activities, and supporting him to build his independence.
A full UK driving licence, your own vehicle, and business insurance are essential, as getting out and about is an important part of his wellbeing and daily life.
