About Dimensions
Dimensions is a leading not-for-profit organisation supporting people with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs to live fulfilling, independent lives. We focus on meaningful support, strong relationships and helping the people we support achieve the things that matter to them. Every role at Dimensions makes a real difference, and we invest heavily in training, support, and career development so our colleagues feel confident, valued and proud of the work they do.
About the role
We’re looking for a committed Support Worker to work across two friendly, busy homes in Metheringham and Bracebridge Heath, around 10 miles apart. You’ll support individuals to live active, independent lives, both at home and out in the community, working as part of wider and well-established support teams.
Across the two homes you’ll be supporting seven people in total. At Metheringham, you’ll support four men aged from their mid-20s to early 60s. This is a lively, social home, where days are often filled with football, bowling, cinema trips, music clubs, and holidays. Some people need full support with personal care, while others are more independent, and staff support with cooking, safe eating guidelines and keeping life busy and fun.
At Bracebridge Heath, you’ll support three women aged from their 20s to 70s, including one person receiving palliative care. Support here includes personal care, medication administration, safer eating guidelines and supporting one person who uses a hoist, with occasional wheelchair use. Activities are just as important and include shopping trips, lunches out, discos, concerts, spa treatments, holidays, and time spent socialising in the town.
Both homes operate sleep-in shifts, and you’ll usually complete a minimum of one sleep-in per week, with a separate staff sleep-in room provided (10pm–7am). Shift patterns include earlies (8am–2pm), lates (2pm–8pm), long days (8am–8pm) and long day sleep-ins (8am–10pm). Rotas are rolling over two weeks, with alternate weekends worked.
About you
You’ll need to have a full UK manual driving licence and your own car to travel between homes. You must also be confident driving the people we support’s vehicles, including mobility and lease cars.
A good sense of humour, energy, and the ability to keep life busy and engaging are essential. An interest in films and music would be a real bonus, as would patience, compassion, and strong teamwork skills.
