– Current Support Worker

About the role

We’re looking for a calm, positive and proactive Support Worker to join our friendly team in Shifnal (TF11), supporting two adults in their 30s with learning disabilities and autism, with a potential third person joining in the future.

This is an active and varied role where you’ll build strong, consistent relationships and support individuals to live independently and enjoy the activities they love.

You’ll provide a mix of 1:1 and shared support, working flexibly across different shifts to meet individual needs.

Who you will be supporting

You’ll be supporting two individuals with very different, engaging lifestyles:

One person is highly active, enjoying long hikes, swimming, gym sessions and working independently at a local farm
The other has a great sense of humour and enjoys horse riding, arts and crafts, cooking and exploring historical places such as the Black Country Museum and Blists Hill

Both individuals value consistency, trust and meaningful relationships, and your support will help them continue to live full and active lives.

What you will be doing

You’ll provide person-centred support that promotes independence and wellbeing, including:

  • Supporting daily routines and independence
  • Providing personal care (for one individual)
  • Preparing meals and supporting healthy choices
  • Administering medication safely
  • Following SALT guidance for eating support
  • Supporting community activities, hobbies and days out
  • Encouraging confidence, choice and life skills
  • Building strong, positive relationships

This is a great role for someone who enjoys variety and being active.

Shift patterns

This is a 20-hour role, worked flexibly across:

  • Early shifts
  • Late shifts
  • Long days
  • Sleep-ins
  • Alternating weekends

Rotas are shared in advance to support a healthy work–life balance.

About you

You’ll be a great fit if you are:

  • Calm, patient and approachable
  • Positive, outgoing and encouraging
  • Comfortable supporting a range of activities and routines
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • A confident manual driver
  • Someone who enjoys being active and involved

Experience is helpful but not essential — full training will be provided.

Rewards that make a difference

  • A competitive pay rate with uplift for overtime you choose to work
  • Flexible shift patterns to suit your needs
  • 30 days’ paid annual leave (including public holidays – pro rata)
  • Opportunities for career progression
  • Supported Learn to Drive scheme (up to 30 lessons + tests paid for)
  • Salary advance scheme – access up to 50% of earned pay before payday
