About the role
We’re looking for calm, confident and engaging Support Workers to join our team in Marlborough (SN8), supporting four gentlemen in their 40s–60s with Down’s Syndrome and learning disabilities.
This is a lively, sociable home filled with humour, personality and routine — often described as a real “lads’ house”. You’ll play a key role in supporting each person to live independently, build confidence and enjoy the things that matter most to them.
Using a person-centred approach, you’ll adapt your support to suit each individual, helping them maintain their routines while encouraging independence and positive outcomes.

- Are building independence with budgeting and daily tasks
- Love bowling, shopping, social clubs and shared activities
- Thrive in a fun, sociable environment
This is a relaxed but structured home where humour, patience and relationship-building are essential.
What you will be doing
Your role will be varied, hands-on and rewarding, including:
- Providing personal care with dignity and respect
- Supporting daily routines and independence
- Preparing meals and supporting household tasks
- Administering medication safely (training provided)
- Supporting activities, outings and social engagement
- Using Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approaches
- Responding calmly to behaviours of distress
- Building strong relationships with individuals and families
Shift patterns
We offer a flexible range of shifts, including:
- 9:00am – 3:00pm
- 9:00am – 5:00pm
- Long day + sleep-in: 9:00am – 9:00am (next day)
- Evening + sleep-in: 5:00pm – 9:00am (next day)
- Sleep-in: 10:00pm – 7:00am (£50 paid to sleep)
Rotas are provided in advance to support a healthy work–life balance.
About you
You’ll be a great fit if you are:
- Calm but confident, with a positive and proactive approach
- Patient, resilient and able to support behaviours of distress
- A strong team player who manages relationships well
- Reliable, organised and flexible
- Willing to learn and develop new skills
- Friendly, engaging and have a good sense of humour
Experience is helpful, but we also welcome candidates with transferable skills — full training will be provided.
