About the role
We are looking for compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join a supported living home in Kings Lynn, currently home to two gentlemen aged in their 40s–60s, with the potential to support a third individual in the future.
Supporting the people we support to live fulfilling lives is at the heart of this role. They enjoy a range of interests including gaming, watching TV, trips out into the community, theatre visits, using public transport, and spending time socialising. One gentleman enjoys cars, walks, and light-hearted banter, while the other enjoys reading, being out and about, and engaging with others.
You will receive comprehensive training in areas such as epilepsy, diabetes management, medication, and manual handling (including hoisting). Your role will involve supporting with personal care, meal preparation and planning, and promoting healthy eating, including feeding support for one gentleman and following specific dietary plans.
Shifts include early (7:00am–2:30pm), late (2:30pm–10:00pm), and occasional waking nights (10:00pm–7:00am) including regular weekend working, following a rota pattern.
About you
You’re compassionate, adaptable, patient, and ready to learn. You can communicate in different ways and build trust with the people you will be supporting. You’re able to work as part of a team, maintain dignity and respect, follow personalised plans, and use your initiative.
You’ll be comfortable supporting personal care, pushing wheelchairs, completing training, and embracing new skills around diabetes, medication, hoisting, and behaviour support. No driving licence required. Previous care experience is welcome but not essential, full training is provided.
