– Current Support Worker

If you're looking for a rewarding role where every day brings new opportunities to support people to live independently, build confidence and enjoy meaningful experiences, we'd love to hear from you.

About the role

We're looking for a caring, reliable and enthusiastic Support Worker to join our friendly team in Winnersh (RG41), supporting three people (two gentlemen and one lady) with learning disabilities, autism and epilepsy.

This is a varied and rewarding role where you'll provide a mixture of 1:1 and 2:1 support, helping people maintain their independence while enjoying active and fulfilling lives within their local community.

The people we support enjoy:

  • Theatre visits and activity clubs
  • Swimming and physical activities
  • Music festivals, bowling and seaside trips
  • Community outings and social events
  • Spending time with friends, family and support staff

All three people use wheelchairs and have individual support needs. One gentleman also requires additional support due to partial sight loss, epilepsy and behaviours of distress. You'll play an important role in helping everyone feel safe, valued and empowered to live life on their own terms.

Support includes:

  • Personal care delivered with dignity and respect
  • Community access and social activities
  • Mobility support and wheelchair assistance
  • Meal preparation and supporting dietary needs
  • Medication administration
  • Shopping, appointments and household tasks
  • Emotional support and Positive Behaviour Support approaches
  • Encouraging independence, confidence and choice

Shifts:

  • 7:00am – 3:00pm
  • 2:00pm – 10:00pm
  • Sleep-ins: 10:00pm – 7:00am (£50 paid to sleep)

Rotas are provided in advance to support a healthy work-life balance.

About you

You'll be a great fit if you're:

  • Caring, patient and values-driven
  • A confident and positive communicator
  • Calm and resilient when supporting complex needs
  • Happy to get involved in community activities and outings
  • Reliable, organised and approachable
  • A strong team player who builds positive relationships
  • Comfortable supporting personal care and mobility needs
  • Passionate about helping people achieve their goals and live independently

Experience is helpful but not essential — we'll provide all the training and support you need to succeed.

  • Flexible shift patterns to suit your needs
