About the Role

  • Support Worker
  • Part time – 24 hours per week
  • £12.85 per hour
  • Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, HP2
  • Full UK driving licence with access to own car essential.

Looking for a rewarding role where every day brings something different and your support truly matters? Join our team in Hemel Hempstead and help an inspiring young man live the life he chooses.

Independent, ambitious and passionate about his community, he embraces every opportunity to learn, achieve and give back. A marathon runner, committed volunteer and proud recipient of a Volunteer of the Year award, he's always challenging himself and setting new goals.

This year, he completed the London Marathon to raise funds for Dimensions' 50 Years Small Sparks Fund. His determination, positivity and dedication to making a difference make him a truly inspiring person to support.

No two days are the same. From training with his local running club and working on woodcraft projects in his shed, to taking part in live online cooking sessions, enjoying countryside walks with his dog, and spending time with family and friends, he leads a full and active life.

You'll play an important role in maintaining the independence he has worked so hard to achieve. This could involve supporting him to organise his week, manage medication and daily routines, pursue new interests, and work towards his personal goals.

You'll work a combination of day shifts (9am to 5pm) and evening shifts with sleep-ins (5pm to 10pm, followed by a sleep-in until he leaves for work at approximately 8am to 9am), including alternate weekends.

Due to his active lifestyle, you'll need to be a driver with access to your own vehicle. Mileage expenses will be paid.

About You

You don't need previous experience in care. What matters most is your values, enthusiasm and desire to support someone to live a great life.

You'll be someone who can build positive relationships, spot opportunities, encourage independence and bring energy and positivity to each day. You understand that great support is about working alongside people, recognising what they can do for themselves, and helping them develop skills, confidence and new experiences.

You'll share our values of Ambition, Courage, Integrity, Partnership and Respect, and be ready to encourage, motivate and celebrate success, whether that's completing a marathon, mastering a new skill, or simply having a great day.
