About the role
We're looking for part time Support Workers to join our team, providing person-centred support to a gentleman in his 60s. This is a rewarding opportunity to build a meaningful relationship, taking the time to understand what is important to him and supporting him to live an active and fulfilling life.
The gentleman enjoys a wide range of hobbies and likes to spend time in his community every day. His interests include swimming, attending social clubs and classes, going to the cinema, dining out, shopping and enjoying regular walks.
As a Support Worker, you'll provide assistance with personal care, medication, mobility and maintaining a safe and comfortable home environment. The gentleman uses a wheelchair and a variety of mobility aids, including a Sara Steady, shower chair and rise-and-recline chair. You'll also support with preparing meals and drinks, ensuring they are provided safely and in accordance with prescribed texture-modified diets and fluid requirements.
Maintaining strong family relationships is a priority for him, and you'll help him stay in touch with loved ones through visits, family events and video calls.
Shifts are primarily during the daytime and will include weekend working on a rota basis.
Due to the rural location of the home and the requirement to drive mobility vehicles, applicants must hold a full UK manual driving licence and have access to their own vehicle. The majority of driving will be in the vehicles used by the person we support, enabling him to access his hobbies and appointments.
