About the role
We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic Support Worker to join our friendly team supporting three gentlemen, aged between their 40s and 60s, who live together in a supported living home in Potter Heigham.
This is a varied and rewarding role where you'll support people to live the lives they choose, maintain their independence and enjoy the interests that matter most to them. The gentlemen enjoy a wide range of interests, including playing pool and snooker, visiting social clubs, shopping, woodland walks, trips to the beach, swimming, and attending local community groups. One gentleman particularly enjoys spending time outdoors every day, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys being active and getting out and about whatever the weather.
Day-to-day, you'll provide person-centred support with everyday tasks such as meal preparation, household duties, shopping, attending appointments, managing medication and helping people explore new experiences, build confidence and achieve their personal goals.
You'll also provide support with personal care in a respectful and dignified way. Full training will be provided, including medication administration and insulin support, so you'll need to be comfortable learning and carrying out health-related tasks as part of your role.
Flexibility is important, as shifts are tailored around the needs and lifestyles of the people we support. Shifts may include early starts (between 8am and 10am), late shifts (typically 2:30pm to 10pm), long days and sleep-in shifts. Alternate weekend working is required.
