About the role

  • Support Worker
  • Full time – 37.5 hours per week
  • £13.45 per hour
  • Norton Subcourse, NR14
  • Full UK manual driving licence and own car essential.

We're looking for a caring, reliable, and enthusiastic Support Workers to support two gentlemen in their home, helping them live fulfilling and independent lives.

The gentlemen we support enjoy being active and making the most of their local town. From swimming and visiting wildlife parks to countryside walks, family visits, picnics, and unwinding in their hot tub at home, you'll play a key role in supporting them to enjoy the activities that matter most to them and achieve their personal goals.

You'll provide person-centred support that promotes choice, dignity, independence, and wellbeing. This is a varied and hands-on role where you'll support with personal care, medication administration, meal preparation, and day-to-day living tasks, while encouraging the people we support to develop skills and maintain their independence wherever possible.

One of the gentlemen is a wheelchair user, so you'll need to be comfortable supporting him both at home and in the community, including pushing a wheelchair over longer distances when out and about.

Cooking and healthy living are important aspects of this role. The people we support receive regular HelloFresh deliveries and enjoy freshly prepared home-cooked meals. You'll need to be confident in the kitchen, preparing nutritious meals from fresh ingredients and supporting healthy lifestyle choices.

This home includes both shared and lone working, so you'll need to be able to work confidently on your own as well as part of a supportive team. This home operates a two-week rolling rota, with shifts typically running from 9:00am to 10:00pm, including 1-2 sleep-ins per week and alternate weekends.
