About the role
We are looking for Support Workers to join our team, with opportunities available for 37.5 hours per week and 22.5 hours per week, supporting four gentlemen across two supported living homes within a small cluster service.
The gentlemen we support are aged between their 20s and 40s. They lead busy and active lives and are looking for Support Workers who can match their enthusiasm for getting out and about, having fun and trying new experiences.
No two days are the same. You could be supporting someone to attend work, volunteer in the community, take part in musical theatre groups, enjoy football, bowling, karaoke sessions, social clubs or visits to local attractions. Family relationships are extremely important, and you'll play a key role in helping people maintain these connections and achieve their personal goals.
You'll also provide support with medication, finances, meal planning and preparation, personal care, household tasks and developing independent living skills. Supporting people to learn new skills and live the life they choose is at the heart of the role.
A full UK driving licence is essential. You won't need your own car, but you'll be required to drive the people we support in their vehicles. All vehicles will be automatic.
Shift: This is a day position only with no sleep-ins or waking nights. Shifts are typically: 7:30am - 3:00pm, 2:30pm - 10:00pm and occasional long days (7:30am - 10:00pm). You'll work alternate weekends and be expected to work flexibly across both homes.
About you
We're looking for someone who is positive, approachable and genuinely passionate about supporting people to live great lives. You'll enjoy encouraging independence and helping people achieve outcomes that matter to them.
You'll be patient, reliable and able to communicate confidently with the people we support, their families and colleagues. We're particularly keen to hear from people who are fun, energetic and share interests such as music, theatre, football and social events.
You don't need previous care experience as we'll provide full training, but you'll need to share our values of Ambition, Courage, Integrity, Partnership and Respect, work well as part of a team and be committed to delivering person-centred support that enables people to thrive.
