About the role

We’re looking for a caring, dependable and proactive Waking Night Support Worker to join our team in Droitwich (WR9), working weekends to support individuals through the night.

You’ll be supporting 10 individuals (4 ladies and 6 gentlemen in their 20s) with learning disabilities, autism and complex health needs in a shared supported living environment.

Waking nights are essential to ensuring people feel safe, comfortable and supported — helping them to rest well and prepare for the day ahead.

Who you will be supporting

The people you’ll support lead active and fulfilling lives and enjoy:

  • At home: Gaming, comics, cartoons, sensory activities, arts & crafts
  • Out and about: Cinema trips, swimming, bowling and walks

Strong relationships with family members are important, and maintaining consistent, high-quality support is key.

What you will be doing (Waking Nights)

As a waking night support worker, you’ll remain awake and alert throughout your shift, providing essential support and reassurance.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out regular safety and wellbeing checks
  • Supporting personal care needs overnight, including bathroom support
  • Providing reassurance and promoting restful sleep routines
  • Responding calmly to any needs or incidents during the night
  • Completing accurate records and handovers for day teams
  • Maintaining a safe, calm and supportive environment

Shift patterns

This is a weekend-only waking night role, including:

  • Saturday: 10:00pm – 7:00am
  • Sunday: 10:00pm – 8:30am

About you

You’ll be a great fit if you are:

  • Calm, patient and reliable
  • Comfortable working independently overnight
  • Observant and able to respond to changes in behaviour or health
  • Caring and reassuring in your approach
  • A good communicator and team player
  • Organised and confident with record-keeping

Experience is helpful but not essential — full training is provided.

  • 30 days’ paid annual leave (including public holidays – pro rata)
  • Buy and sell holiday options
  • Career development through Aspire & Dimensions Academy
