ABA Support Worker -  £13.20ph -  East Finchley

Full UK/EU Manual Driving Licence Required.

At  ABA Homes, we specialize in empowering children and young adults with autism and Asperger’s Syndrome to develop life skills and achieve their goals. Whether you’re experienced or looking to start a meaningful career, we offer full training for successful candidates.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A commitment to putting individuals’ needs first and helping them thrive.
  • Knowledge of Autism and Positive Behaviour Support is ideal, but not essential—we’ll train you!
  • A full, clean, MANUAL  UK driving license and confidence to drive!

About the Role:

You’ll be supporting an energetic and adventurous young gentleman living independently. He loves outdoor activities like climbing and horse riding and enjoys spending time with friends and family.

Your role will include:

  • Participating in his favorite activities.
  • Assisting with day-to-day tasks like shopping, meal preparation, and personal care.
  • Encouraging independence and helping him achieve his aspirations.

Shift Patterns:

Weekdays: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, 4:30 PM - 10:00 PM + sleep-in.
Weekends: Typically 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM.

The successful candidate would desirably possess/be interested in the following;

  • Confidence whilst remaining humble, promoting inclusion at varying levels of ability in differing situations
  • To be genuine, honest and endearing towards the client’s more sensitive needs
  • Always be respectful of the client’s wishes whilst up-holding and rewarding socially acceptable behaviour
  • As part of a team, you may be required to work evenings and weekends. Your ability to be flexible and support your colleagues when needed is vital
  • Having the initiative to research, be creative and introduce new ideas/places
  • Supporting people with their personal and intimate care as required. This includes supporting people to use the toilet, feed and dress etc. Maintaining the individual’s dignity during these situations is imperative
  • Keeping written records, using IT systems as required to help you, including support plans, financial info and health and safety records
