Female Night Support Worker

  • Part Time Female Waking Night Support Worker
  • 29 hours per week (x3 nights per week)
  • Luton, Bedfordshire.
  • £12.31 per hour

Are you someone who prefers being up at night and wants to make a real difference in someone’s life? We’re looking for a kind, reliable, and confident female to join our team as a waking night support worker in Luton.

You will be supporting a lovely woman in her 30s who lives in her own two-bedroom bungalow. She’s independent, fun, and has a great relationship with her family, who live nearby and often pop in. She loves watching planes at Luton Airport, going for walks, shopping, and catching up on her favourite soaps, especially Coronation Street. She also volunteers at a local charity shop and takes pride in looking her best.

This is a part-time role, working three waking night shifts a week from 9:30pm to 7:15am, including alternate weekends. You’ll be working on your own during the night, so it’s important that you’re comfortable with lone working. Most of the time, nights are calm, but there can be the occasional behaviours of distress, especially if she’s feeling anxious or unsettled. You’ll get full training, including SKIP (positive behaviour support), and shadow shifts to help you feel confident before starting.

Your night will involve being there if she wakes up and needs support, helping her with her morning routine, including breakfast and medication, and doing some light cleaning. She usually wakes up early, has breakfast while watching Good Morning Britain, and then heads back to bed. You’ll also keep records during your shift using our digital system.

We’re looking for someone who’s caring, calm, and happy to work nights. You don’t need to drive or have experience; we’ll give you all the training you need. You’ll also be part of a friendly team and will attend occasional team meetings and training days.

Your rewards

In return, you’ll get a competitive salary, paid training, and a great benefits package. This includes up to 35 days of holiday (pro rata), pension contributions, discounts on shopping and days out, a £200 bonus if you refer a friend, and access to wellbeing support whenever you need it. There’s free parking at the house, and public transport links are good too.
