Dimensions 
are seeking Female Waking Night Support Workers to enable the independence of a lady we support in her home in the Newtown/Upper Parkstone area of Poole by assisting her with her night-time routine.

We can accept full-time (36 hour) applications for this role. (Shift times are from 19.00-07.00. Pay rate of £12.52 per hour).

Female Waking Night Support Workers will assist the lady who is in her 60’s and has a learning disability by:

  • Keeping her company and watching her favourite sitcoms until she decides it is time for bed (sometimes she may be in bed before you arrive, but this will not always be the case)
  • On occasion when she wakes up, creating a calming environment and reminding her that it’s bedtime
  • Undertaking any domestic tasks that cannot be done in the day when she is awake
  • Ensuring that any relevant paperwork is kept up to date
  • If she wakes up before the morning team are in, helping her with her morning routine

Although this lady doesn’t communicate using words, she can understand you and will take you around the house to show you what she wants. She also communicates using gestures and body language. If you have never communicated with someone in this way before, don’t worry as Dimensions provide Female Waking Night Support Workers with full training.
