Lead Support Worker - Full-Time

  • Must have a full manual driving licence and own car

About the Role:

As a Lead Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting a team of staff while ensuring the highest level of support for the people we support. No two days will be the same, you will enjoy variety and assist them in the following ways:

  • Fully understand the support needs of the people you support and their families, maintain appropriate records for these two groups, and be a role model of good practice.
  • Support with medication, organise stock control and ensure systems are safe.
  • Participate as appropriate in relevant reviews at individual, team and service level and work to continually improve practice whilst challenging poor practice.
  • Contribute and coordinate the wider team approach in meeting the needs of people we support.
  • Coach frontline staff to develop the skills they need to deliver the best possible support.
  • Involve the people we support in the planning of their support. This includes developing and delivering their support plan, reviewing the support they receive against Dimensions’ values and maintaining good working relations with their circle of support.

Dimensions want you to develop professionally as a lead support worker. This means that you are expected to get involved and contribute to meetings, work towards gaining qualifications about your work, attend training courses and be willing to learn new things and ways of working.

This role involves working 8am-3pm / 3pm-10pm / 8am-10pm and every other weekend. We are looking for someone who has the willingness to work nights as and when needed.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in a senior / lead support worker role, ideally in a leadership or mentoring capacity.
  • Knowledge of compliance systems (e.g., radar systems, iPlanit).
  • A values-driven individual who is passionate about supporting people with learning disabilities and autism.
  • Someone who is organised, proactive, and a great team player.
  • A driver with a manual licence and own vehicle (essential).
