Are you looking for a role where you can make an impact every day? We are seeking an experienced Support Worker to provide personalised support for a gentleman in his 40s who values his independence and is passionate about his hobbies, family, and community. If you are dedicated, dependable, and have experience supporting individuals with complex needs, we would love to hear from you.

About the Role: You will be working with a gentleman who lives in a two-bedroom bungalow located in a quiet cul-de-sac in Comberton. He requires 2:1 support, and your primary role will be to assist him with daily tasks that empower him to live his best life.

Meet the Gentleman:

  • He is a strong-minded individual with a solid sense of right and wrong, a close bond with his family, and a genuine love for his community. He enjoys visiting a local drop-in centre twice a week, going swimming, and recently acquired a new car, which he is very proud of.
  • He is passionate about photography and collects magnets dedicated to his interests. He is highly motivated by his vehicle and loves to stay active.
  • His mum is an essential part of his life and remains closely involved in decision-making. Building a positive relationship with her will be crucial.
  • He has epilepsy and experiences complex seizures that require rescue medication. He is independent but uses a walking stick for mobility after seizures.
  • While he mostly manages his daily routine, he does require prompts and encouragement for tasks such as meal planning and medication management, and he needs support with cooking.
  • He can sometimes exhibit behaviours of distress, both verbal and physical, and may occasionally call the police when distressed. Your experience in managing behaviours of distress will help you create a safe and calm environment.

Why You will Love This Role:

  • Competitive salary with overtime enhancements (+10%).
  • 30 days of annual leave, increasing to 35 days with service.
  • Generous sick pay and pension contributions.
  • Paid training, with financial bonuses for certifications.
  • Career progression with our ‘promote from within’ culture.
  • Discounts on shopping, days out, and Vodafone tariffs.
  • Salary advance scheme—access pay before payday.
