Are you a professional, compassionate, and attentive individual ready to make a real difference in someone’s life? Do you thrive in structured environments and enjoy supporting people to explore new interests and build independence? If so, we’d love to hear from you!

Who Will You Be Supporting?

You’ll be supporting a friendly gentleman in his 30s who has learning disabilities, autism, and well-managed epilepsy. Here's more about him:

  • Loves Routine: Following a clear schedule helps him feel safe and secure.
  • Active & Curious: He enjoys going on walks, having carvery meals out, feeding ducks in the park, and is working towards trying new activities like swimming, visiting the cinema, and even a safari park!
  • Humour & Fun: He laughs a lot and has a great sense of humour, making your role all the more rewarding.
  • Family: This gentleman’s family is very involved in his care—his mum often calls, and his dad loves helping out with gardening and the car, so building strong, positive relationships with them will be essential.

An attentive, proactive and encouraging team player would be a wonderful match to his support team.

What Will You Be Doing?

Your role as a Support Worker will be varied, fulfilling, and focused on improving this gentleman's quality of life. Responsibilities include:

  • Personal Care & Medication: Assist with all aspects of daily living, including administering medication and helping with personal care.
  • Routine-Driven Support: Follow a clear and structured routine, providing stability while remaining alert and flexible to behavioural changes.
  • Encouraging Independence: Help him try new activities like swimming or visiting the cinema, always encouraging him to explore new interests and enjoy life to the fullest.
  • Professional & Alert: Be attentive to his needs, follow clear instructions, and respond calmly and professionally to any unpredictable behaviour.
  • Communication & Teamwork: Speak clearly and confidently, work well with your team, and communicate effectively with the family. A willingness to whistleblow or raise concerns when necessary is crucial to ensure his well-being.
  • Comfortable with Water: You’re happy to support swimming activities and join him in the pool when required.

You will also need to provide emotional reassurance when experiencing behaviours of distress – full positive behaviour support training is provided.

Shift Patterns

  • Day Shifts: 7am - 10pm (Long Days)
  • Sleep-In Shift: 10pm - 7am (Paid to Sleep)

Rotas provided in advance to support a healthy work-life balance. This gentleman leads a routine-driven life and requires 2:1 support at all times
