Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference in someone’s life? We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team, offering 2:1 support during the daytime and 1:1 support overnight for a gentleman who requires specialised support. This single-person home is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with one individual, helping them lead a fulfilling and supported life.

About the Role:

You will be providing personalised support to a gentleman with behaviours of distress, dysphagia, and autism. Due to these complexities, the individual requires round-the-clock support, including assistance with personal care, medication administration, and feeding support making experience in these areas highly desirable.

While this role can be challenging at times, it is incredibly rewarding, knowing that your support will help the individual engage in activities they enjoy, such as going for local walks, visiting parks, and enjoying music-related activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Training will be provided to ensure medication is administered safely and accurately.
  • You will assist with feeding and work closely with SALT (Speech and Language Therapy) professionals to ensure safe eating and drinking practices.
  • will need to understand and respond to the gentleman's behaviours of distress with patience and professionalism, always prioritising his well-being.
  • The gentleman enjoys activities such as walks and music. You will encourage and support these interests, promoting an active and enjoyable daily routine.
  • Family plays a key role in the individual's life, and you will work closely with them, ensuring their involvement and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Full assistance with personal care is required, always ensuring the individual’s dignity and comfort.

Shift Patterns:

This position offers a 12-hour shift schedule, with shifts running from 8am to 8pm for day shifts and 8pm to 8am for waking night shifts. This structure allows for consistency and ensures that the gentleman receives the required support throughout the day and night.
